Every scope below is delivered in-house — no subcontracted finish work. Mix designs and cut sheets are stamped to the project and held in the submittal package. Where the spec calls for an Alaska freeze-thaw alternate, we name the substitution up-front.

Load-bearing and exterior concrete masonry walls. ASTM C90 block, Type S or M mortar, ladder/truss reinforcement on prescribed courses, control joints per ACI.

Standards we commit to on paper.

We are a newer firm in the Mat-Su market, so instead of testimonials we publish the quality-control standards every Kodiak Masonry job is held to. These appear in the submittal package and on the closeout binder we hand off at substantial completion.

QC-01ASTM C270 · 2024

Mortar batches mixed to ASTM C270 proportion spec. Batch sand-content tested at the start of each pour day. Mix is logged on the daily report.

QC-02TMS 602-22 · Article 1.8C

Cold-weather work follows ACI 530.1 / TMS 602 provisions. Heated enclosures, non-chloride admix, 48-hour heat hold post-pour, monitored temperature log.

QC-03ICRI 210.1R · 2016

Tuck-point joint depth controlled to a minimum of 2× the joint width before repointing. Existing mortar match-tested for color, hardness, and permeability.

QC-04ASTM A580 / A153

All ties, anchors, and reinforcement to ASTM A580 stainless or hot-dip galvanized A153 — never plain steel — to survive AK condensation in the cavity.
